Increasing your consumption of soy products in your diet will help you:
Reduce the risk of cancer and retards its growth, breast or prostrate and skin cancers
Digest food better…better bacteria formation for the colon because of phytosterols; favorable bacteria in colon is raffinose and stachyose
Kidney can simulate soy foods better than animal choices
Reduce fat consumption ( plant food over animal food)
Results in lower cholesterol levels largely as a result of the lecithin levels; greater enhances with exercise routine
Result in less chance of heart disease, hypertension, coronary heart disease, lowers blood pressure (products nato and miso have antihypertensive peptides that interfere with increase blood pressure enzyme conditions.
Provides good alternative for those who are lactose intolerant due to lack of lactase in body
Is successful in providing antioxidants to keep body from aging; saponins will have these properties; phytates inhibits radical formation and allows itself to bind with iron to keep at safe level in body; glycine is in abundance in soy protein
Increase general well-being from diets of soy
Soy fortified with calcium still provides prevention from osteoporosis (bone thinning/breaking)
Affects positively in menopausal changes in control of estrogen due to presence of raloxifenes.
Soy provides soluble and insoluble (fiberous) material useful in absorption in body
Has polyphenols that neutralize cancer causing agents
Contains linolenic acid which is a precursor of DHA and EPA which is important in maintaining memory and brain development as well as fighting inflammation in the body; about 8% of fat in soybeans is linolenic acid (omega-3 fatty acid)
Contains omega-3 fatty acids only found in fish and mammals….unique plant with this ingredient
With higher concentration of genistein in the body there is a remarkable decrease of cell proliferation due to the cells undergoing a process called apoptosis. Increase doses, increase the inhibition of cell growth
Soy products are free of trans fatty acids which are bad for the arteries
Soy does not have any sulfur amino acids thus kidney excretes less salt and calcium in the urine
Soy has better glucose assimulation to blood for more stable bloodstream sugar.. it is a complex carbohydrate; the large amounts of glycin and arginine will tend to reduce blood insulin levels.
Reduction of the formation of gallstones from kidney; reduction of kidney bladder infections
Calcium elimination is less with soy versus animal products; increase the calcium intake the kidney stones will not form
How much is recommended?
Products that contain 12 mg of total isoflavonnes per 100 ml, and 400 ml of soy milk per day is a very good health drink for mature men and women.
50-100 mg of isoflavones a day is a very safe dosage for most people; Phyto-Est will deliver 50-60 mgs/day in capsule form; Fem Soy is a drink mix. This increases good cholesterol HDL and reduces bad cholesterol LDL; do not overdose over 120 mg a day (effects unknown)
Calcium threshold: 25-50 …1000/ age 50 1000/ over 55 1500 for women: Men are less like 1000 at age 55.
Cholesterol is to be maintained less than 200 mg/dl; less than 130 mg/dl for LDL cholesterol. Look at the ratio of HDL to LDL. The ratios of total cholesterol to HDL is to be less than 4.5.
Doses of 25 g of soy protein lowers cholesterol; even diet of 10g of soy will see positive effects
Vegetarians may eat an average of 40 grams of fiver per day over the recommended 20-25 g
Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily (prevents dehydration and thus kidney stones)
Be careful in the processing of the soy as chemicals could alter the effectiveness of the results of using soy.
If you are 25% over ideal body weight you are considered obese. (NOTE: 25% of children and 25% of all adults are overweight); any diet you go on should not be less than 1200 calories.
